Enemy of Western CIv: Islam

Yeah, like you needed to be told that...

Well, if you have any doubts what-so-ever, check this out: a power-point type movie made by David Horowitz showing the Nazi-Islamic links that began all the way back in the late 1920's. Very, very disturbing stuff...and all of it is verifiable.

Many, many people have been writing and publishing about the links between the Nazis and Islam, and how modern Islam proudly proclaims it's links to and it's love for Adolph Hitler...something that the mainstream media keeps on seeming to miss somehow...

Anyway, watch this: The Islamic Mein Kampf.

Friend of Western Civ: Newt Gingrich

One of the most surprising development of recent time is the voice and courage of former speaker of the house, Newt Gingrich. While I've never been a fan of Gingrich, I've become increasingly impressed with his rhetoric concerning the the threat of radical Islam. Here is a blurb I found at Newsmax.com: Newt Gingrich: Iran Eyes 'Second Holocaust'

Excerpt:
"Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich said Israel is facing the greatest threat to its survival since the Six-Day War in 1967 – and warned that a nuclear-armed Iran would lead to a 'second Holocaust.”

Addressing a security conference in Herzliya, Israel, via a video hookup, Gingrich declared: 'We have enemies who are quite explicit in their desire to destroy us. They say it publicly, on television, on Web sites. We are sleepwalking through this as though it is all a problem of communications, and that somehow diplomacy will enable us to come together and have a wonderful fiesta in which we will all learn to love one another.'"

Amazingly, he is the ONLY political leader I know of, either Democrat or Republican, who is speaking intelligently and urgently about these matters.

Yes, Newt Gingrich is a FRIEND of Western Civilization!

Friend of Western Civ: Joe Lieberman

An excellent Wall Street Journal opinion piece appeared in this past Saturday's Journal, and they wisely put it online for our viewing pleasure: Joe Lieberman: "It is critical that we take advantage of this opportunity to win."

Excerpt:
"In 2003 'we did something that was right and courageous, which was to overthrow Saddam Hussein,' says Mr. Lieberman. 'He was a genocidal dictator, he tried to assassinate a former American president, he used chemical weapons [on his] . . . own people . . . He was a hater of the United States.' Saddam was a danger, not to mention a barrier to creating a democratic Middle East that ceases to be a threat to the U.S.

This is why the senator remains unmoved today by those colleagues who have abandoned the cause, lamenting that they were 'deceived' about the existence of WMD or that they have 'lost confidence in the leadership of the president.' Says Mr. Lieberman: 'If you still think, not only that the original purpose of going in was right, but that how it ends will have a significant effect on American security for a generation or more to come, then you don't back away.' And that, he says, counts even in the face of faltering public opinion. 'I think we are elected to lead. . . . Americans are understandably responding to the carnage they see on TV every night, and what we have to urge them is not to surrender to the people who are causing that carnage.'"

Jihad Watch: Fitzgerald: A tribute to Dinesh D'Souza

Hugh Fitzgerald at Jihad Watch absolutely RIPS apart Dinesh D'Souza's new book entitled "The Enemy at Home." Here is a link to the full review: Jihad Watch: Fitzgerald: A tribute to Dinesh D'Souza

Excerpt:
"Dinesh D'Souza's arrogance, in presuming to write about matters that he could not possibly have studied, arrogance about the most important matters, disqualifies him from ever again being taken seriously about anything.

His dreamy belief that Islamic terrorism dates back to 1979 and the Ayatollah Khomeini returning from Neauphle-le-chateau to Teheran, ignores, as Robert Spencer mentions here, the entire history of terrorism directed against Israel, Israel as a state, and even before it was a state, against the Jews who lived in what was, historically, the Land of Israel. D'Souza ignores the terrorism used against the French in Algeria. (Incidentally, apparently Bush is reading Alistair Horne, who got so much wrong in his history of that conflict, because Henry Kissinger, ever the Islam-avoider, recommended his book to Bush as a guide to the situation in Iraq. Yet a moment's thought would show ten ways in which the situations are different. Horne's book refuses to recognize the centrality of Islam in the Algerian war against the Infidels, who included not only the French, but also all kinds of other non-Muslims -- Spanish, Italians, Jews -- who had been living for a long time in Algeria and whose only crime was to not be Muslim.)"
I have a copy of D'Souza's book, and will be doing my own review. Basically Fitzgerald is angry because D'Souza ignore Muslim atrocities prior to 1979...which seems to be the case in what I've read so far. More to come...

Hmmm…Mainstream Media getting the message?

Forget the mainstream media, the blog-o-sphere is where it's at, baby! Just check this out: Pierre Legrand’s Pink Flamingo Bar: Hmmm...Mainstream Media getting the message?

Yeah, it seems like they are finally getting it...

Good catch Pierre!

Essay: This Holocaust will be different

This is a very disturbing essay, and perhaps a bit too realistic: This Holocaust will be different

Excerpt:
"The second holocaust will not be like the first. The Nazis, of course, industrialized mass murder. But still, the perpetrators had one-on-one contact with the victims. They may have dehumanized them over months and years of appalling debasement and in their minds, before the actual killing. But, still, they were in eye and ear contact, sometimes in tactile contact, with their victims.

The Germans, along with their non-German helpers, had to round up the men, women and children from their houses and drag and beat them through the streets and mow them down in nearby woods or push and pack them into cattle cars and transport them to the camps, where 'Work makes free,' separate the able-bodied from the completely useless and lure them into 'shower' halls and pour in the gas and then take out, or oversee the extraction of, the bodies and prepare the 'showers' for the next batch.

The second holocaust will be quite different. One bright morning, in five or 10 years, perhaps during a regional crisis, perhaps out of the blue, a day or a year or five years after Iran's acquisition of the Bomb, the mullahs in Qom will convene in secret session, under a portrait of the steely-eyed Ayatollah Khomeini, and give President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, by then in his second or third erm, the go-ahead."

CNN: Amanpour: Radical, moderate Muslims battle for young English minds

Looks like even CNN is taking note of the radical intentions of Islam: "Radical, moderate Muslims battle for young English minds"

Here is a small excerpt:

The UK was rocked by the attacks of July 7, 2005 and the attempted attacks that failed two weeks later. Since then, Britons have many questions about the role of the Muslim community here.

In our investigation, we found shocking evidence of the bigotry, intolerance and hatred preached by some Muslim fundamentalists in the UK. We met men like Anjem Choudary of the now-banned Al-Mahajiroon extremist group, who denounces democracy and predicts Britain will be ruled by Sharia, Islamic law.

He publicly distances himself from suicide bombings here in the UK, mindful of Britain's tough new anti-terrorism laws, yet we filmed him openly condoning violent Jihad abroad.

"I happen to be in an ideological and political war," Choudary said. "My brothers in al Qaeda and other Mujahedeen are involved in a military campaign." (Watch a call for Islamic law in Britain )

And this week, a report in the London Sunday Times says Choudary has been using a false name on a password-protected Web site to incite Muslims to go to Somalia to wage holy war.

Some mosques in Britain, while publicly agreeing to cross-cultural tolerance, in fact sometimes host preachers from both Britain and abroad who rail with hatred against "kafirs" (infidels), against homosexuals, against democracy and even against women.

This hate-speech and the attempt by extremists to recruit young disaffected Muslims on London's deprived streets and even on university campuses is beginning to motivate the "other voices of Islam" to try to seize back their religion, which they say has been hijacked. WHAT HAVE THE ROMANS DONE FOR US?

My favorie scene from the movie "Monty Python's Life of Brian."
I didn't like the movie that much, but this little scene is excellent satire.

HOW THE LEFT CONTRIBUTED TO 9/11

Here is a an interesting new book due out today: "The Enemy at Home: The Cultural Left and Its Responsibility for 9/11" By Dinesh D'Souza, Random House, Inc., 352 pages, $26.95

And here is a blurb about the book:
When it comes to laying blame for Sept. 11 – the greatest attack on U.S. soil since Pearl Harbor – one of America's foremost thinkers says it doesn't lay with the terrorists.

Instead, America's enemies are right beneath our noses. Dinesh D'Souza identifies them as our "cultural left."

D'Souza is the best-selling author of "Illiberal Education: The Politics of Race and Sex on Campus," and helped coin the term political correctness. His latest controversial work is appropriately called "The Enemy at Home: The Cultural Left and Its Responsibility for 9/11" (Random House).

Although it has been officially embargoed before its release on Tuesday, January 16, it is already drawing some heavy gunfire from the left.

Their anger begins with D'Souza's own words: "In this book I make a claim that will seem startling at the outset. The cultural left in this country is responsible for causing 9/11."
source: NewsMax: Author Blames 9/11 On 'Cultural Left'

That claim is far closer to the truth than the idiotic claims that "the Jews" or the Bush Aministration is responsible! Please note that the author is not denying that terrorists flew planes into buildings on 9/11, he is just providing a basis for their motivation, much like Noam Chomsky did in his book "9-11." But unlike Chomsky, D'Souza sets his sites on the hedonistic culture of the West, not it's foreign policy.

Personally, I agree with Chomsky that our foreign policy is a big negative factor in our disputes with Islam, and really it boils down to the existence of Israel. As long as we support Israel, we will be hated by Islam...it's that simple. However, I myself totally disagree with Chomsky that we therefore need to get rid of Israel. (One of many issues I disagree with Chomsky on)

But I don't entirely agree with D'Souza's thesis either, but there are some excellent points to ponder, specifically the amazing way we offend other cultures of the world by our blatanlty hedonistic media and culture, a culture that is entirely a product of the left-wing.

Here is D'Souza in his own word from an interview with Katherine Lopez:
Falwell’s point after 9/11 was that God was punishing America of its sins. My point is entirely secular: Why did the guys who did it, do it? Surely five years after 9/11, it’s reasonable to ask this question. And both the Right and the Left have been operating under illusions. The radical Muslims are against modernity and science and democracy. The radical Muslims are upset because of colonialism and the Crusades. It’s all nonsense. That’s not what the leading thinkers of radical Islam say. And Bin Laden’s own views are quite different. In his Letter to America, issued shortly after 9/11, he said that America is the fount of global atheism and it is imposing its morally depraved values on the world. So Muslims must rise up in defensive jihad against America because their religion and their values are under attack. This aspect of Bin Laden’s critique has been totally ignored, and it’s one that resonates with a lot of traditional Muslims and traditional people around the world. A second point is that unlike Falwell I don’t think “America” is to blame. Muslims in Indonesia and Egypt and Pakistan don’t see “America,” they see the face of American popular culture that is projected by our television and movies and music. They see the dimension of America that in their view corrupts the innocence of children, and undermines the family, and promotes homosexuality as a normal way of life. In fact, this is the America of the cultural Left. What the Left considers “liberating,” much of the world considers a scandalous assault on modesty and decency.
